Job Description

Perform manufacturing planning activities supporting tooling development, production planning, and production engineering for commercial aircraft programs. Support the development and sustainment of manufacturing plans, tooling strategies, and production documentation while coordinating cross-functional efforts to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance. Develop manufacturing solutions, resolve production issues, and implement process improvements that support efficient aircraft manufacturing operations.

    • Associate degree in a related discipline and typically 6+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing production environment
    • 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Manufacturing experience
    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Preferred Skills
    • Experience with Product Data Manager (PDM)
    • Experience with Computer-Aided Process Planning (CAPP)
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Plan and lead department and organization processes for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing plans, bills of materials, work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration
    • Develop manufacturing concepts and strategies that support business objectives
    • Prepare build analyses and cost estimate reports
    • Lead the integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data, and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
    • Participate in source selection activities to ensure manufacturing requirements are met
    • Develop complex tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements
    • Manage tooling from initial design through end-of-use disposition
    • Investigate and resolve complex or systemic manufacturing-related issues
    • Lead teams performing producibility assessments of design concepts
    • Support enterprise-level benchmarking activities to incorporate manufacturing best practices
    • Develop complex work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments
    • Create scheduling templates for use by others
    • Draft, update, and review processes and procedures supporting business and regulatory agency requirements
    • Develop and document new job practices, techniques, and standards
    • Work under minimal direction
