Job Description

Analyze production nonconformances and develop engineering dispositions supporting commercial aircraft manufacturing. Apply engineering principles to resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle while collaborating with production teams, suppliers, and integrated product teams. Support factory operations by transforming engineering designs into production-ready solutions.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited course of study
    • 14+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering
    • Current or prior BCA MRB experience within the last 2 years
    • Demonstrated knowledge of company design principles
    • Experience conducting root cause analysis for production nonconformances
    • Ability to develop engineering dispositions supporting production requirements
    • Experience researching technical, operational, and quality issues
    • Experience supporting supplier compliance activities
    • Willingness to complete approximately 9 months of required training through OJT or formal classroom instruction
    • Ability to work first, second, or third shift, weekends, and overtime, as required
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • 14+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering at the senior level
    • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Analyze production nonconformances and develop engineering dispositions
    • Perform root cause analysis to resolve product and process issues
    • Apply company design principles to support engineering solutions throughout the product lifecycle
    • Research technical, operational, and quality issues affecting production
    • Identify design deviations that could impact design intent or safety
    • Recommend corrective actions and manage issue resolution
    • Develop product and process improvements
    • Support Integrated Product Teams during design reviews
    • Represent engineering throughout initial build, production, and post-production activities
    • Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with company standards
    • Prepare customer correspondence supporting the continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment
    • Participate in disabled product repair and accident investigation support teams
    • Evaluate structural damage and modification requirements to determine appropriate jacking and shoring methods
    • Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analyses
    • Develop non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Work 100% onsite in Everett, Seattle, Auburn, or Renton, Washington
    • Perform duties in a factory environment with exposure to stairs, trip hazards, elevated noise levels, chemical hazards, and aircraft in various stages of assembly
    • Travel between Boeing Puget Sound sites during the training rotation, as required
    • Support variable shift assignments, weekend work, overtime, and rotational schedules based on business needs
