Systems Safety Engineer

Job Description

Performs systems safety engineering analyses in accordance with MIL-STD-882E to identify hazards, assess risks, and support program safety requirements. Documents findings in safety and investigative reports while reviewing technical problem reports for potential safety impacts. Supports customer-facing meetings and safety review activities, including SSTRP participation.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Experience performing SSHAR, SAR, HTS, and FHA analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-882E
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Job Duties & Functions
• Conducts engineering and technical safety analyses in support of system safety programs
• Documents hazard analyses and investigative findings in formal reports
• Reviews engineering problem reports for safety impact assessment
• Executes system safety analyses, including SSHAR, SAR, HTS, and FHA, per MIL-STD-882E
• Supports customer meetings and program safety review sessions
• Participates in SSTRP-related activities and compliance coordination
