Design Engineer

Job Description

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and functional systems, including primary and secondary structures, using CAD tools and engineering design principles. Produces detailed layouts, finished 3D models, and design documentation while ensuring manufacturability, compliance with contractual requirements, and adherence to engineering standards. Reviews designs for accuracy, identifies deficiencies, and coordinates corrective actions across engineering teams.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience with Creo design
• 2+ years of experience with Windchill PLM/PDM
• 4+ years of experience creating finished 3D models
• 2+ years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• 2+ years of experience with complex mechanical/electrical concepts
• 1+ year of experience in concept development
• 1+ year of experience in design review content preparation
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Preferred Skills
• Model-Based Definition (MBD) experience

• Job Duties & Functions
• Designs major components, assemblies, and functional systems for mechanical applications
• Develops layouts, sketches, and preliminary design data to support engineering proposals
• Evaluates manufacturability, material selection, and structural efficiency of designs
• Coordinates design development activities with cross-functional engineering teams
• Creates detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for parts and assemblies
• Reviews design outputs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
• Identifies design errors, omissions, and improvement opportunities
• Supports integration of mechanical and electrical design requirements across systems
