Job Description
Supports nondestructive evaluation engineering activities for composite and metallic aircraft structures across manufacturing and production environments. Reviews, develops, and qualifies inspection methods and procedures to ensure product integrity and compliance with engineering and regulatory standards. Interfaces across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support inspection development, validation, and continuous process improvement.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in nondestructive evaluation (NDE) or inspection engineering
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- 5+ years of related aerospace or nondestructive evaluation experience
- ASNT Level II or Level III certification in UT, RT, MT, PT, or ET
- ultrasonic phased array or automated inspection systems
- Computed tomography (CT), robotics, or 3D modeling tools
- Working in engineering or scientific laboratory environments
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Job Duties & Functions
- Reviews and interprets ultrasonic inspection data for composite and metallic structures
- Develops and validates nondestructive testing inspection procedures and techniques
- Designs and fabricates reference standards for inspection, calibration, and qualification
- Supports qualification and certification of NDE equipment and systems
- Develops inspection sequencing and process documentation for manufacturing use
- Evaluates and approves supplier and internal inspection methodologies
- Performs root cause analysis on NDT-related nonconformances and supports corrective actions
- Supports integration of new inspection technologies into production environments
- Prepares technical reports documenting inspection results and engineering evaluations
- Coordinates with cross-functional teams to align inspection methods with design requirements
- Supports standardization and continuous improvement of NDE processes
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Works in manufacturing and engineering laboratory environments
- Stands and walks for extended periods during inspection and production support activities
- Lifts and carries equipment and materials as required in lab or shop settings
- Operates in environments with exposure to industrial noise and variable temperatures
- Performs hands-on inspection work around composite and metallic structures
