Structural & Payload Design Engineer 3

Job Description

Supporting aircraft integration across production build operations. This role interprets engineering drawings, supports manufacturing execution, and ensures design intent is maintained throughout aircraft assembly. The position supports cross-functional coordination, engineering change incorporation, and production issue resolution across VC-25B aircraft builds.

• Variable shifts 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4/10 schedules
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program
• 2+ years of experience in product engineering or production operations
• 2+ years of experience supporting military or commercial aviation programs
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Able to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Job Duties & Functions
• Represents the engineering organization on the production floor to support design intent clarification
• Provides technical guidance to mechanics, quality teams, and manufacturing engineers
• Monitors aircraft build sequence to ensure alignment with engineering requirements
• Supports engineering drawing updates and revision implementation during production
• Evaluates the impact of design changes on manufacturing execution and build flow
• Coordinates cross-zone engineering integration activities
• Identifies technical and production issues and supports resolution strategies
• Prioritizes engineering decisions to support production schedule execution
• Supports continuous improvement of production engineering processes

• Physical Requirements & Environment
• Performs work on active aircraft manufacturing floors
• Walks and stands for extended periods during production support activities
• Climbs, bends, and works in and around aircraft structures and confined spaces
• Lifts and carries up to 30 lbs as required
• Works in industrial environments with noise and temperature variation
