Job Description
Apply drafting principles and design concepts to support real-time solutions for product and process issues within the fabrication environment. Create and modify part models, product structures, and assembly definitions based on engineering requirements while supporting production, quality, and design improvement initiatives. Collaborate across multiple disciplines to support the full product lifecycle from design through production and fleet support.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Associate degree in a related discipline and typically 6 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ years of experience with aerospace design, including detail and assembly parts
- CATIA or equivalent solid modeling experience
- Integrated Visualization Tool (IVT) experience
- Understanding of computer-aided design principles
- Understanding of design product structures, including details, parts, assemblies, and installations
- Understanding of machining metallic parts
- Successful completion of required training, including OJT or formal classroom training, as a condition of assignment
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

- Job Duties & Functions
- Apply drafting principles and design concepts to resolve product and process issues during fabrication activities
- Create drafted parts and product structures supporting operational and quality requirements
- Perform model definition changes based on engineering input and approved design direction
- Translate engineering concepts and feedback into physical part geometry and assembly definitions
- Engage with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to support design changes and product improvements
- Maintain technical excellence while supporting progression within the technical design discipline
- Participate in a fast-paced production environment while supporting real-time problem resolution
- Provide materials and process support to commercial airplane programs and systems design teams
- Review electrical component materials and process specifications along with supporting engineering documentation
- Identify impacts associated with electrical component non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventative actions
- Conduct engineering laboratory and failure analysis activities to determine root causes of failed electrical components
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to future products
- Collaborate with Design, Stress, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supplier organizations to resolve materials and process challenges
- Produce requirements, specifications, and technical documentation supporting tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
