Job Description
Perform strain gage installation and instrumentation activities supporting engineering flight and ground test operations. Execute surface preparation, layout, alignment, bonding, and measurement system integration for strain gages applied to aircraft and facility components. Apply Wheatstone bridge wiring techniques to support measurement of torque, axial load, bending, and shear strain across metallic and composite structures.

- Education & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 2+ years of engineering college or technical school
- 5+ years of experience in strain gage installation and instrumentation measurement systems
- Experience with Wheatstone bridge wiring methodology for strain gages
- Experience performing surface preparation, strain gage layout, alignment, and bonding
- Experience with instrumentation wiring, documentation, and measurement systems
- Experience applying strain gages to metallic and composite structures
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with Micro-Measurements techniques and procedures
- Experience supporting engineering flight test and ground test operations
- Experience measuring torque, axial load, bending, and shear strain using instrumentation systems
- Flexibility to support overtime and extended or modified shift requirements
- Job Duties & Functions
- Perform strain gage installation activities supporting flight and ground test operations
- Prepare surfaces and execute layout, alignment, and bonding of strain gages on test components
- Wire Wheatstone bridge circuits to support strain measurement systems
- Configure and verify instrumentation wiring for test data acquisition
- Document installation procedures and instrumentation configurations
- Support measurement of mechanical loads including torque, axial load, bending, and shear strain
- Apply strain gages to aircraft and facility components constructed from metals and composites
- Coordinate test support activities with engineering teams during flight and ground operations
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Work with aircraft and facility test components
- Exposure to extended and modified shift requirements including overtime
