Perform component engineering analysis of aerospace electronic hardware to evaluate compliance with military specifications and support non-standard part approval processes. - Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering
- 3+ years of experience working to MIL-STD-11991 requirements and developing non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations
- Demonstrate prior experience interpreting manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bills of Material
- Exhibit a strong understanding of active and passive electronic piece parts
- Apply knowledge of electronic device manufacture and operation
- 2 - 4 years of experience with Power Electronics
- 2 - 4 years of experience writing technical documents and end-user documentation
- 2 - 4 years of experience with Circuit Design
- 2 - 4 years of experience performing Electronic Component Testing
- 2 - 4 years of experience with Electronic Device Physics
- 2 - 4 years of experience with Semiconductor Manufacturing
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Destructive Physical Analysis
- Knowledge of Particle Impact Noise Detection Testing
- Understanding of MIL-STD-883 test methods
- Job Duties & Functions
- Review aerospace hardware designs and evaluate compliance with military specifications, including MIL-STD-11991
- Assess electrical and electronic equipment designs, including piece parts, circuit card assemblies, wires and harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies
- Develop non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations
- Interpret manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Participate in resolving issues involving conflicting design requirements, unsuitable standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements
- Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration activities to assure product and component quality
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate component acceptability
- Support the end-to-end process of capturing, designing, developing, testing, manufacturing, and life-cycle support of electronic systems
- Manage detailed part-level obsolescence activities, including monitoring BOMs, resolving issues, scheduling implementation of fixes, identifying new sources, and preventing production line stoppages
- Coordinate with design engineers, vendors, and other functional areas to support program objectives
- Enforce PMPCP compliance requirements
- Present technical information and program updates to program management and customers
