Job Description

Perform component engineering analysis of aerospace electronic hardware to evaluate compliance with military specifications and support non-standard part approval processes. Review electronic components, assemblies, and documentation while supporting quality, obsolescence management, and lifecycle activities for electronic systems.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering
    • 3+ years of experience working to MIL-STD-11991 requirements and developing non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations
    • Demonstrate prior experience interpreting manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bills of Material
    • Exhibit a strong understanding of active and passive electronic piece parts
    • Apply knowledge of electronic device manufacture and operation
    • 2 - 4 years of experience with Power Electronics
    • 2 - 4 years of experience writing technical documents and end-user documentation
    • 2 - 4 years of experience with Circuit Design
    • 2 - 4 years of experience performing Electronic Component Testing
    • 2 - 4 years of experience with Electronic Device Physics
    • 2 - 4 years of experience with Semiconductor Manufacturing
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Preferred Skills
    • Familiarity with Destructive Physical Analysis
    • Knowledge of Particle Impact Noise Detection Testing
    • Understanding of MIL-STD-883 test methods
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Review aerospace hardware designs and evaluate compliance with military specifications, including MIL-STD-11991
    • Assess electrical and electronic equipment designs, including piece parts, circuit card assemblies, wires and harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies
    • Develop non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations
    • Interpret manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
    • Participate in resolving issues involving conflicting design requirements, unsuitable standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements
    • Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration activities to assure product and component quality
    • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
    • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate component acceptability
    • Support the end-to-end process of capturing, designing, developing, testing, manufacturing, and life-cycle support of electronic systems
    • Manage detailed part-level obsolescence activities, including monitoring BOMs, resolving issues, scheduling implementation of fixes, identifying new sources, and preventing production line stoppages
    • Coordinate with design engineers, vendors, and other functional areas to support program objectives
    • Enforce PMPCP compliance requirements
    • Present technical information and program updates to program management and customers
