Job Description
Perform precision solder assembly and rework operations on complex printed circuit boards using SMT and through-hole soldering techniques. Support electronics manufacturing activities through inspection, troubleshooting, rework, quality verification, and adherence to engineering and compliance standards.

- Education & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of soldering experience
- Hands-on experience with surface-mount technology and through-hole soldering
- Proficiency in removing, repairing, and replacing bottom-terminated components, including QFNs, BGAs, and LGAs
- Hands-on use of advanced rework equipment
- Possess the ability to verify workmanship using X-ray inspection techniques
- Capability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and Bill of Materials
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- Computer knowledge, including email, accessing files, and SharePoints
- Basic computer skills
- Background using a microscope to assemble components
- Expertise in assembling miniature parts into assemblies under a microscope
- IPC-A-610 knowledge
- IPC-J-STD knowledge
- Job Duties & Functions
- Perform high-mix, low-volume assembly of SMT and through-hole components on complex printed circuit boards
- Execute removal, replacement, and repair of bottom-terminated components, including QFNs, BGAs, and LGAs
- Operate hot-air pencils, hot plates, and specialized rework equipment to complete soldering and repair activities
- Conduct precise reflow, pre-heat, and cooling cycles according to component-specific thermal profiles
- Inspect solder joints on hidden pads using X-ray inspection equipment to verify rework quality
- Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and Bill of Materials to ensure proper component placement and orientation
- Perform visual, AOI, and X-ray quality inspections and document inspection results according to quality system requirements
- Troubleshoot solder-related defects and implement corrective actions to resolve assembly issues
- Maintain ESD-controlled environments while following all safety and compliance procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting tooling upgrades and process optimizations
- Work under a microscope for extended periods while inspecting and assembling PWBs
- Coordinate production activities while maintaining quality standards during assembly and rework operations
- Maintain regular attendance and flexibility for required overtime hours
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Required overtime of 10 hours per week
- Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods
- Ability to use soldering, rework, inspection, and assembly equipment
- Ability to complete Vision/Medical Testing requirements
- Must pass required medical examination as outlined in the supplier guide
