Lead aircraft quality control inspection operations to ensure airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and adherence to FAA regulations, technical data, and company quality standards. Supervise inspection teams, validate maintenance documentation, coordinate training activities, and ensure accurate execution of inspection, receiving, and conformity processes across maintenance operations.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • 5+ years of aircraft inspection experience
    • 5+ years of experience with commercial aircraft
    • Valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Operate computer systems, maintenance documentation systems, and FAA regulatory materials
    • Apply Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) in inspection activities
    • Evaluate mechanical components using precision instruments and technical tools
    • Work across multiple shifts and locations as business needs require
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Preferred Skills
    • Bachelor’s degree or additional technical training in aviation maintenance or related field
    • Experience in high-volume MRO inspection environments
    • Strong communication skills for team coordination and customer interaction
    • Familiarity with FAA forms, inspection documentation, and regulatory reporting systems
    • Experience in training and developing inspection personnel
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Research technical data and execute aircraft inspections, flightline operations, and shop evaluations in accordance with FAA regulations, maintenance manuals, and company policies
    • Inspect aircraft components, parts, and materials to verify compliance with quality standards, tolerances, and manufacturer specifications
    • Record inspection data on required forms, reports, and inspection tags while escalating irregularities to Lead Inspector or Chief Inspector
    • Ensure maintenance records are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements
    • Verify Required Inspection Items (RIIs) are properly identified on work cards per customer procedures
    • Maintain Work-In-Progress Conformity Records for assigned shifts
    • Conduct receiving inspections of incoming parts and materials
    • Evaluate airframe connections and part fitment using hand tools, flashlights, and mirrors
    • Inspect assembly, installation, and adjustment of control surfaces, including ailerons and rudders, for regulatory compliance
    • Verify installation accuracy of powerplant and hydraulic system components using precision measurement tools
    • Approve or reject units through inspection tag documentation and discrepancy reporting
    • Ensure completion of FAA Form 337, FAA Form 8130-3, and SDR reporting as required
    • Enforce safety and quality policies across inspection and maintenance operations
    • Conduct facility audits to ensure safety and regulatory compliance
    • Coordinate with customer representatives regarding inspection findings and requirements
    • Assume duties of Chief Inspector or Lead Inspector in their absence
    • Assist in the training and development of Receiving Inspectors, Aircraft Inspectors, and NDT Inspectors
    • Ensure proper documentation of all training activities and approvals
    • Perform off-site maintenance support duties as required
    • Maintain equipment condition and support general housekeeping of work areas
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods during shift operations
    • Perform frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level
    • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs unassisted as required
    • Utilize eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity for precision inspection work
    • Work in hangars, flightline areas, and avionics environments
    • Operate in conditions involving high noise levels, temperature variation, hazardous materials, and moving equipment
    • Use required PPE, including goggles, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, and safety harnesses
    • Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Support temporary duty assignments away from base as required
