Job Description
The Assembler performs solder assembly, inspection, and electronic manufacturing activities for printed circuit board assemblies in a production environment. This position supports PCB assembly operations by performing soldering, defect identification, quality inspections, and process improvement activities in accordance with IPC standards and manufacturing requirements.

- Education & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on solder assembly experience in a production environment
- 1-2 years of experience supporting general assembly operations
- 1-2 years of experience working in machine shop environments
- 1-2 years of experience performing soldering activities
- 1-2 years of experience supporting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) operations
- Experience applying IPC standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001
- Ability to solder and inspect component sizes ranging from 0201-1206, BGAs, QFNs, CSPs, and through-hole components
- Experience utilizing soldering equipment, including soldering irons, hot air guns, reflow ovens, and wave solder machines
- Experience using microscopes, AOI equipment, and visual inspection techniques to identify solder defects
- Experience supporting mixed technology boards, including SMT and through-hole assemblies
- Knowledge of lead-free and RoHS-compliant manufacturing processes
- Strong attention to detail with problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- Experience applying statistical process control (SPC) and yield analysis methodologies
- Technical or vocational training in electronics assembly
- Job Duties & Functions
- Perform manual and selective soldering of through-hole, SMT, BGA, QFN, CSP, and related electronic components
- Conduct visual inspections using microscopes, AOI equipment, and inspection tools to identify solder defects
- Apply IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-2221/2222 standards throughout assembly operations
- Verify solder paste, flux, and assembly materials meet required specifications
- Support process improvement initiatives related to soldering processes, tooling, and work instructions
- Follow safety procedures for handling hazardous materials and using personal protective equipment
- Assemble printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies in accordance with manufacturing specifications
- Document inspection findings and support quality assurance activities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within manufacturing work areas
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Work onsite full-time in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Work a 4/10 second shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM
- Lift up to 25 pounds, including boxes of PCBs and tooling
- Use microscopes, inspection tools, and soldering equipment for extended periods
- Perform repetitive hand assembly and soldering operations
- Use personal protective equipment in designated areas
- Pass required medical and vision examinations prior to assignment start
