CNC Machinist

Job Description

Monitors feed and speed of machines during machining operations and produces precision parts using CNC equipment. Interprets blueprints and engineering drawings, calculates dimensions and tolerances, and ensures finished parts meet specification and quantity requirements.

• $25.00 - $40.00/hour BOE

• Education & Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 or more years of CNC Experience required (set up, adjust, and operate lathes, mills, and other machine tools and machine parts to specifications), maintain machine tools and equipment with regular cleaning and lubrication, and ensure operational efficiency of the machines
• Operate forklifts when required, after proper training and certification
• Maintain housekeeping in designated sections of the machine shop
• Ensure a safe working environment by conforming to all safety guidelines, including, but not limited to, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE); safety glasses, steel toe/composite toe boots
• Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment
• Effectively work within established time guidelines
• Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal
• Ability to lift up to 75+ pounds
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to work well under pressure. He or she must be able to understand and adhere to oral and written instructions.

• Job Duties & Functions
• Monitor feed and speed of machines during the machining process
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, scales, and dial indicators
• Read charts to translate decimal to fractional equivalents
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering data to determine machining methods and sequences
• Produce parts and verify quantities to match work order requirements
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to ensure conformance to specifications
