The Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Garmin glass cockpit avionics systems on corporate and general aviation aircraft. The role ensures systems are operational, compliant with technical standards, and fully integrated with aircraft avionics.The technician collaborates with engineering and production teams to maintain aircraft readiness and resolve complex avionics issues.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on avionics installation and troubleshooting experience on corporate/general aviation airframes.
- Proven experience installing and configuring Garmin glass cockpit systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and STC installation manuals.
- Proficient in using aviation-specific diagnostic tools (multimeters, ohmmeters, pitot-static testers).
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Professional Attributes
- Self-starter capable of troubleshooting complex avionics issues post-installation.
- Preferred Skills
- Capabilities in Collins Fusion software troubleshooting and loading.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License, not required
- Experience with other systems such as Honeywell or Avidyne.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Efficiently load Garmin software updates, configure LRUs (Line Replaceable Units), and perform ground-test checkouts.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and data bus communication errors (ARINC 429, RS-232, CAN bus).
- Assist with or perform installations of avionics systems and components per engineering drawings.
- Use ramp test sets for Transponder (Mode S), Pitot-Static, and RVSM validation.
- Complete repair station paperwork, including logbook entries and FAA Form 337.
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces (tail cones, under floorboards, behind panels).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
