Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Performs mechanical engineering design, analysis, and testing to support the development and manufacturing of complex microwave electronic subsystems, ensuring integration across mechanical, thermal, and electronic disciplines.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree with 10 or more years of experience
• Demonstrate experience in electronic packaging for military applications
• Knowledge in the design and documentation of circuit card assemblies, printed circuit boards, and cabling
• Familiar with CREO and Windchill for design and product lifecycle management
• Support Change Board processes and documentation control practices
• Perform manufacturing support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of electronic assemblies
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Preferred Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience supporting microwave electronics packaging design
• Familiarity with Zuken design tools
• Build and test electronic assemblies in a hands-on environment
• Apply knowledge of materials and processes used in electronics manufacturing

• Job Duties & Functions
• Designs electronics packaging solutions for microwave components and subsystems
• Analyzes mechanical and thermal performance to ensure reliability and compliance
• Develops engineering documentation for circuit card assemblies, PCBs, and cabling systems
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams, including RF, electrical, and manufacturing engineering
• Validates designs through testing, verification, and environmental stress screening processes
• Troubleshoots complex technical issues and determines the root cause of failures
• Supports manufacturing activities, including build, integration, and test of hardware
• Advances product development through research, design iteration, and engineering analysis
• Maintains configuration control and executes change management processes
• Documents engineering activities, test results, and design updates in accordance with program requirements
