Job Description

Leads flight test planning and execution activities in support of aircraft test programs, coordinating across multiple functional groups to ensure successful test operations. Develops test procedures, defines instrumentation and configurations, and conducts ground and flight testing while minimizing risk and adhering to test plans. Reviews and validates test data, prepares reports, and presents results to stakeholders while ensuring proper documentation and archival. Provides guidance to junior test conductors and supports overall flight test operations within a control room environment.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years of experience, or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years of experience, OR a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years of experience, from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
    • 5+ years of experience with the principles of flight test or directly supporting flight test operations.
    • 5+ years of experience in planning and conducting system-level lab, ground, or flight testing.
    • 100+ hours of control room experience as a Test Conductor.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
    • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required.
    • Preferred Skills
    • 10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years of experience performing tactical aircraft flight testing, planning, and/or executing.
    • 5+ years of experience directly interfacing with customers and senior program leadership.
    • 5+ years of experience developing detailed test points from system level specification requirements, test planning, execution, and reporting test results.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Support the development and verification of test methods.
    • Develop detailed test procedures, instrumentation, and configuration definitions to perform tests and minimize risk.
    • Perform detailed planning and execution of aircraft ground and flight tests.
    • Review test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality, and fidelity prior to delivery.
    • Prepare and publish test reports to document results and satisfy requirements.
    • Present test results internally.
    • Archive data and reports.
    • Coordinate flight test operations with flight operations, test operations, instrumentation and data systems, system design, fabrication, and assembly teams.
    • Train and guide junior test conductors in career development.
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Work performed in a control room and flight test environment.
    • May require overtime up to 30 percent.
    • Domestic travel may be required.
