Job Description
The Retail Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering excellent service, supporting store operations, and maintaining merchandising standards in a fast-paced retail environment. This role ensures accurate cash handling, inventory management, and point-of-sale transactions while assisting customers with product knowledge and purchases. The position also supports stockroom organization, store maintenance coordination, and achievement of sales goals. Success in this role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g., High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate’s degree + 2 years of related work, Bachelor’s degree, etc.).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Preferred Skills
- 2+ years of retail sales, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of common business applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
- Job Duties & Functions
- Perform daily cash control procedures and process point-of-sale transactions.
- Receive, process, and manage incoming and outbound merchandise shipments.
- Maintain stock balances and monitor inventory levels.
- Facilitate special customer orders and merchandise transfers.
- Process Mark Out of Stocks (MOS) and Return to Vendor (RTV) merchandise.
- Complete inventory documentation and coordinate inter-store transfers.
- Prepare for and support annual store inventory counts.
- Execute floor sets and maintain merchandising standards.
- Maintain an organized stockroom and ensure proper merchandise storage.
- Coordinate store maintenance needs and communicate facility issues.
- Open and close the store following established procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Support achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Process purchases, returns, and exchanges according to company policy.
- Respond to customer and stakeholder inquiries via email or other communication channels.
- Process freight and inter-store transfers for markdowns.
- Prepare and process merchandise orders for customers.
- Identify and report safety and housekeeping issues.
- Restock and routinely clean the store.
- Report customer complaints to the Store Manager.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Frequent unpacking, moving, and handling of boxes.
