Job Description

Applies advanced knowledge of engineering principles to assess and resolve complex product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle. Leads investigations, root cause analysis, and development of interim and final engineering solutions for nonconformances and system-related events. Provides technical guidance to cross-functional teams and supports build, delivery, and post-production environments. Oversees documentation, supports repair activities, and ensures effective resolution of technical issues.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree and typically 14 or more years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with typically 12 or more years of experience, OR a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years of experience, from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Preferred Skills
    • Current or previous delivery center work experience.
    • Experience with flight squawk resolution processes.
    • In-depth knowledge of systems and functional test troubleshooting.
    • Capable of communicating with customers and leading technical discussions.
    • Familiarity with AFRS.
    • Knowledge of drawing change processes (EQC, ELR, MCC, RR, MR, PRR).
    • Prior CI&R experience.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Assess and resolve product and process issues across the product lifecycle.
    • Lead research, root cause analysis, and disposition of complex design nonconformances.
    • Develop interim and final engineering solutions for structural and system-related issues.
    • Investigate multidiscipline system events and assess potential safety issues.
    • Analyze reported problems and implement product and process improvements.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
    • Represent engineering in build through post-production environments.
    • Oversee documentation of hardware and system problems.
    • Identify training needs and support technical development activities.
    • Lead on-site repair teams and support accident investigation efforts.
    • Review and approve design and operational concepts for new designs.
    • Design jacking and shoring schemes and perform static strength analysis.
    • Develop and lead non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards.

    • Occasional shop floor visits required.
    • Ability to support off-shift, weekend, and overtime work as required.
