Job Description

Monitor all phases of the software development process to ensure design quality and regulatory compliance, verifying that delivered aircraft software meets company standards. Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation teams, and project managers while reviewing and approving software, system, and test documentation. Participate in software change control boards, mentor junior employees, and support program auditing activities. Apply knowledge of software development, verification, and embedded systems while communicating effectively with internal teams and customers.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
    • A minimum of 11 years of directly related work experience with aerospace/defense software processes such as RTCA DO-178c, RTCA 278a, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, or MIL-STD-498.
    • Must have 10 years of experience with DO-178 or DO-254 and proven Software Quality Assurance (SQA) work visible on resume.
    • Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts to develop and review systems and software processes.
    • Must demonstrate basic understanding of audit techniques.
    • Experience in software requirements development, design, and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded languages).
    • Embedded software/hardware verification background or knowledge.
    • Effective written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
    • Review and approve systems, software, and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards.
    • Participate in the software change control process boards.
    • Support program activities to ensure processes and products comply with contractual and company process requirements.
    • Mentor and train junior employees as required.
    • Participate in moderate travel to support program activities and auditing software suppliers.
