Job Description
Supports aircraft production by evaluating and resolving non-conformances while ensuring engineering designs are properly implemented on the factory floor. This role performs root cause analysis, develops engineering dispositions, and collaborates with production teams to resolve structural, systems, and manufacturing issues. The engineer applies design principles to research technical problems, develop repair solutions, and implement product or process improvements throughout the production lifecycle. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain product safety, quality, and compliance with engineering standards.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) and typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD + 4 years of related work experience, Master’s degree + 7 years of related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

- Preferred Skills
- 9 or more years of experience supporting MRB activities related to aircraft systems or structures.
- Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes.
- Prior BCA Engineering Material Review Board certification.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Analyze production non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and develop engineering dispositions.
- Apply engineering and design principles to assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Research technical, operational, and quality issues to support the development of final engineering solutions.
- Identify, document, and analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that may impact design intent or safety.
- Develop and implement product and process improvements to enhance production performance and quality.
- Support Integrated Product Teams and participate in design reviews.
- Represent the engineering organization on the factory floor during aircraft production and post-production activities.
- Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with engineering standards and requirements.
- Develop engineering correspondence to support continued safe operation and maintenance of aircraft equipment.
- Participate in on-site repair teams, accident investigations, and engineering support activities.
- Analyze damage repairs or structural modifications to determine appropriate jacking and shoring requirements.
- Design interim structural repairs and perform static strength analysis.
- Develop non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards.
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Work performed in a factory environment with exposure to stairs, trip hazards, and high noise areas.
- Exposure to chemical hazards during aircraft production activities.
- Required to enter the aircraft during multiple stages of the build process.
