Support satellite programs by providing expertise in space survivability and radiation effects across all program phases. Responsibilities include performing radiation-related analyses, supporting system and unit-level design considerations, coordinating with technical disciplines, planning and conducting radiation testing, and ensuring compliance with radiation environment requirements while balancing survivability, cost, weight, and technical risk.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years of experience, Master's degree with 12 or more years of experience, or PhD with 9 or more years of experience. Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in space environments or radiation effects.
- Experience in dose rate testing, total ionizing dose testing, displacement damage testing, and single event effects testing of electronics.
- Experience in prompt dose analysis of electronic units.
- Experience working on government contracts with nuclear effects environment requirements.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Provide subject matter expertise in nuclear radiation hardness across multiple space programs.
- Interface with program office representatives and system engineers to address radiation-related design concerns.
- Ensure unit and system level designs consider radiation-related effects, including total dose, displacement damage, ELDRS, single event effects, internal charging, IEMP, SGEMP, and TREE.
- Perform and document unit and vehicle-level radiation analyses.
- Plan and conduct testing at the piecepart, unit, and vehicle levels to verify compliance with radiation-related requirements.
- Coordinate with radiation test facilities to schedule and support required testing.
