Job Description
Supports engineering design, development, integration, test, certification, and hardware/software management for mission avionics sub-systems. Assists in developing, validating, and verifying system-level requirements, test plans, and procedures. Coordinates system-level integration, supports certification activities, provides technical management for suppliers and software teams, troubleshoots production labs and aircraft, conducts RCCAs, and coordinates with specialty engineering teams to ensure compliance with system requirements.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification, or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification, or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, including work with communication systems, FAA or military, troubleshooting and integrations, RF systems, and networking.
- Must be a U.S. Person.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with Software Development Processes.
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) engineering principles.
- Experience with defensive systems, data networks, communication systems, navigation systems, flight management systems, and mission control systems.
- Experience working with FAA and/or Military certification requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems.
- Experience with Equipment Manager responsibilities for Avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
- Experience in hardware and software integration.
- Experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Experience in Technical Subcontract Management working with suppliers.
- Experience developing requirements and performing requirements decomposition.
- Experience evaluating aircraft maintenance requirements, certifications, or airworthiness directives.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Support engineering design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of mission avionics systems.
- Support system-level requirements development, validation, and verification.
- Assist in developing test plans and procedures for certification.
- Coordinate system-level integration of hardware and software.
- Define and execute critical tests to validate design performance.
- Provide technical management for suppliers and internal software teams.
- Gather information for proposals and conduct trade studies for upgrades and new opportunities.
- Coordinate FAA, military certification, and airworthiness activities for mission avionics systems.
- Collaborate with specialty engineering teams such as safety, electromagnetic emissions, and cybersecurity.
- Provide troubleshooting support for production labs and aircraft.
- Conduct investigations and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs).
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Fully onsite Everett, WA (45-334) with possible travel to Tukwila, WA.
- Full-time, First Shift, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
