Job Description
The Sheetmetal Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, modifying, and fabricating aircraft structural components with an emphasis on sheet metal and composite repairs. The role supports maintenance and modification operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality requirements in a fast-paced aviation environment.

- Education & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or sustained similar experience.
- Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience.
- CRJ airframe experience.
- MRO experience.
- Military aircraft maintenance experience, including Depot, Isochronal, or Phase inspections, if formerly in the military.
- Personal set of tools required.
- Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with CRJ and ERJ regional jets.
- Experience with corporate jets and turboprops.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Perform thorough inspections of aircraft structures and identify and document signs of damage or wear.
- Comply with environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on structural components, including wing, fuselage, and tail sections.
- Fabricate and modify structural components and aircraft parts.
- Perform minor structural repairs on composite components, whether attached or detached.
- Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations as required.
- Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assist with complex structural repairs both on and off aircraft.
- Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and compliance with aviation regulations.
- Inspect confined areas of the airframe.
- Remain current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Aircraft hangar environment.
- Work in confined spaces and on elevated platforms.
- Exposure to aircraft structures, tools, and maintenance equipment.
