Job Description
The Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and reinstalling complex avionics and electrical systems on aircraft in accordance with repair station guidelines. This role includes running wires and cables, mounting antennas, connecting navigation and engine monitoring instruments, installing radios, autopilots, and passenger entertainment systems, and performing detailed soldering and component assembly. The technician ensures all avionics systems function properly prior to return to service, analyzes discrepancies and flight test data, coordinates with maintenance personnel, and maintains accurate documentation of all work performed.

- Education & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience with aircraft electrical systems installation and repair, including aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge.
- Experience with NAV/COM, Autopilot, GPS, and RVSM systems.
- Understanding of aircraft systems, including hydraulics and flight controls.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

- Job Duties & Functions
- Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
- Run wires and cables, mount antennas, and connect navigation and engine monitoring instruments.
- Install radios, autopilots, passenger entertainment systems, and related configurations.
- Ensure avionics systems function properly prior to return to service and verify no interference with other electronic devices.
- Remove, repair, and reinstall malfunctioning avionics equipment before an aircraft is returned to service.
- Perform intricate soldering on electrical components and assemble and install related systems.
- Diagnose discrepancies and analyze flight test data to determine system malfunctions.
- Organize ground support and test equipment.
- Coordinate work activities with the Avionics Manager, technicians, and aircraft maintenance crew.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and work performed in accordance with repair station guidelines.
