Job Description
The Test & Evaluation Engineer integrates propulsion test execution requirements and resources to conduct pressure testing and clean room operations. This role collaborates with SSL Leadership, Prop Test management, engineers, and internal/external customers, develops and tracks performance metrics, and supports creation and maintenance of test and cleaning documentation. The engineer aids in developing test execution plans, coordinates resource allocation and schedules, tracks test phases, and ensures program milestones are met. The role works under general direction to improve communication and collaboration across test and cleaning activities.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, with typically 7 or more years of experience in an engineering classification, or a Master’s degree with typically 5 or more years of experience, or a PhD with experience in an engineering classification
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in test laboratory operations
- A minimum of 7 years of experience performing propulsion testing in propulsion systems, pressure and fluid systems, or vacuum systems
- A minimum of 4 years of precision cleaning of hardware experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance if required
- Preferred Skills
- A minimum of 4 years of clean room operations experience
- Experience as a lead, supervisor, or manager
- Knowledge of propellant and chemical handling/storage requirements
- Job Duties & Functions
- Support development and tracking of performance metrics, track trends, and work with leadership to develop action plans
- Aids in the development of test execution plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, test support requirements, and program milestones
- Improve communication and collaboration through a communication plan providing the status of current and upcoming test and cleaning activities
- Support development, creation, and maintenance of test and cleaning documentation
- Track current and upcoming test phases to ensure cleaning and testing activities meet program need dates
- Coordinate and collaborate daily with propulsion test management and engineers
- Work under general direction

- On-site work required; candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense
