Job Description

The In-Service NDT team is seeking Associate and Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Specialists to support the In-Service NDT team. This non-managerial, non-leadership role supports in-service aircraft programs by authoring NDT procedures, developing calibration standards, and supporting inspection activities. The position requires regular and predictable attendance and offers possible overtime and domestic travel. Candidates must be able to relocate at their own expense if residing out of state.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
• A minimum of 9 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor+7 years, 11 years total)
• 1+ years of education or experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test).
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
• Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends if necessary
• Ability to work in confined spaces

• Preferred Skills
• 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 800 hours of Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• 300 hours of Ultrasonic Shear-Wave Testing
• 800 hours of Eddy Current Testing (ET)
• Experience with CAD software
• Experience writing UT & ET techniques and inspection procedures

• Job Duties & Functions
• Author NDT procedures
• Incorporate revisions authored by method Responsible Level III in the standard procedure review process
• Develop Computer Assisted Drawings (CAD) of specialized calibration standards
• Perform setup for non-destructive test or measurement equipment to calibration standards
• Compose procedure figures providing information on inspection location, geometry, accessibility, probe/transducer placement, and notch signal response
• Report potential adverse trends or anomalous results
