Job Description
The Materials and Processes Engineering team is seeking MP&P Engineer 2 professionals to support the Puget Sound NDE and Measurement Systems organization. This role supports commercial and defense aircraft programs across the full product lifecycle, including research, development, production, and in-service support. The engineer will develop NDE procedures, design reference standards, support tool qualification, and assist with supplier audits and corrective actions. This position is first shift and 100% onsite with potential domestic travel.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) and typically 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of engineering experience.
- Professional Attributes
- Strong interest in non-destructive evaluation work with a general base of NDE knowledge and/or experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as a self-starter.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA or SolidWorks.
- Experience with NDI systems, including ultrasonics and eddy current.
- Experience in aviation and/or aerospace.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Strong time management skills to manage multiple simultaneous projects across various geographical locations.
- Knowledge of materials science with metals and/or composites.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Develop NDE procedures in support of airline customer maintenance inspections.
- Design NDE reference standards in support of inspection procedures.
- Develop engineering specifications and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the evaluation of emerging technologies for potential business applications.
- Assist with the development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.
- Perform routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials and processes, research, design, and qualification activities, work procedures, and laboratory and office environments.
