Job Description

Software Engineer (Associate) supporting the B-52J Navigation and Displays team, focused on embedded flight software development and avionics modernization. Provides practical support for software engineering tasks, including design, development, integration, verification, debugging, and documentation under general supervision. Works with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, contribute to design, implement, and test code, and support system integration and verification in a dynamic environment.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
    • U.S. Person required for export compliance
    • Ability to relocate at own expense if out-of-state
    • Domestic travel required
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Assist with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of embedded software throughout the software lifecycle
    • Gather information to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software designs
    • Assist with the development, enhancement, optimization, and integration of software products
    • Assist with documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
    • Assist with debugging and resolution of technical issues to ensure reliability and efficiency
    • Support implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations
    • Assist in developing, monitoring, and improving software processes, tools, and performance metrics
    • Assist in software research, project management, and supplier coordination
    • Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with plans and standards
    • Preferred Skills
    • Experience developing embedded real-time software with C, C++, Java, Python, Rust, or Ada
    • Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
    • Experience with Agile software development and workflow tools
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of varying skill levels
    • Experience with object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Travel required for domestic assignments
    • Work is 100% onsite in Kent, WA
    • Shift: 1st, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
