Job Description
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded flight software for the B-52J Navigation and Displays program, translating system requirements into software architecture and detailed designs while supporting full lifecycle activities including integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, and tool/process deployment, and driving architectural improvements, resolving technical issues, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, and contributing to technical direction, process improvements, mentoring, and Agile-based project and supplier coordination.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field (ABET accreditation preferred).
- 5 years of experience in software development lifecycle, including design, development, integration, verification, process/tool deployment, supplier coordination, research, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing embedded real-time software using Ada (required).
- Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Experience in Agile software development environments using workflow tools such as VS Code and GitLab.
- Understanding of hardware/software integration and system safety principles.
- Must be a U.S. Person for export compliance.
- 100% onsite in Kent, WA.
- Preferred Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
- Experience supporting avionics or control systems for commercial or military aerospace applications.
- Experience deriving and allocating system, subsystem, and software requirements with traceability throughout the lifecycle.
- Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies for safety-critical systems.
- Experience with verification and validation planning for safety-critical software.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards including DO-178C, DO-331, MIL-HDBK-516C, and MIL-STD-882.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading complex technical efforts.

- Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain embedded flight software systems.
- Review and translate customer requirements into software designs and architectures.
- Develop and maintain documentation for requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and system integrations.
- Debug and resolve software defects to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Support research and development activities.
- Implement and improve software processes, tools, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with project plans and standards.
- Track and evaluate software and supplier performance.
- Support user inquiries and technical troubleshooting.
