    • Role Summary
    • In this role, you will perform or assist with assembly, fitting, drilling, riveting, and installation of aircraft structures, safely operate hand and power tools, read and interpret blueprints and work orders, maintain accurate documentation, support Lean and 5S initiatives, assist with troubleshooting and repairs, mentor less experienced team members as your experience grows, and perform other duties as assigned, with responsibilities and supervision increasing from Trainee to Senior Structural Mechanic.
    • Trainee
    • Enrollment in a Technical Aviation program is preferred.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Direct supervision; entry-level position to learn structural assembly processes.
    • Structural Mechanic I
    • A minimum of 1 year of related structural assembly experience.
    • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
    • Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, stands, stairs, small spaces, or restricted areas.
    • Moderate supervision; perform basic assembly, fitting, drilling, riveting, and fabrication.
    • Structural Mechanic II
    • A minimum of 2 years of related structural assembly experience.
    • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
    • Minimal supervision; perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, installation, repairs, and rework.
    • Participate in Lean/continuous improvement activities and coordinate work between shifts.
    • Structural Mechanic III
    • A minimum of 4 years of related structural assembly experience.
    • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred; Q-stamp preferred.
    • Independent; perform advanced assembly, fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting.
    • Mentor and instruct other team members, develop methods and shop aids, and support production planning.
    • Structural Mechanic IV
    • A minimum of 6 years of related structural assembly experience.
    • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred; Q-stamp preferred.
    • Independently perform complex assembly, fabrication, and installation operations.
    • Lead and mentor team members, plan workloads and resources, and support Lean initiatives.
    • Required Skills & Abilities for all Levels
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication: read, write, speak, and understand English.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, lofts, sketches, and technical instructions.
    • Safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
    • Commitment to quality, safety, 5S, and Lean/continuous improvement.
    • Ability to work with composite resins, adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Assemble and fit structural parts and assemblies, performing drilling, riveting, shaping, and forming per specifications.
    • Align parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
    • Inspect work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection.
    • Follow standard operating procedures for adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and job records.
    • Collect and properly dispose of waste materials and fluids.
    • Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with 5S and Lean standards.
    • Assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and rework to ensure compliance with design specifications.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
    • Coordinate work activities and exchange job-related information between shifts.
    • Plan workloads, organize resources, and assist with project oversight (Levels III–IV).
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs, and work in small spaces or restricted areas.
    • Exposure to adhesives, sealants, solvents, composite resins, and other materials.
    • Shift work required, including potential overtime.
    • Must follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.
