Supports the design and integration of next-generation commercial aircraft flight decks by developing component and system requirements and translating them into system architecture, hardware, and software designs. This role creates mechanical and electrical design solutions, supports certification, production, and in-service operations, and ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, cost, and schedule objectives. The engineer collaborates across cross-functional teams, resolves technical issues through root cause analysis, and supports system integration and lifecycle performance. Strong analytical skills and systems thinking are essential to deliver reliable and compliant engineering solutions.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in an engineering classification.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Experience with model-based engineering tools and numerical analysis.
- Experience with system safety analysis, fault tree analysis, or data reliability assessments.
- Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Specification Control Documents (SCDs).
- Experience working with suppliers, regulatory agencies, or airline customers.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Develop and document component and detailed design requirements for complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Create design solutions using model-based engineering software and analytical tools.
- Translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
- Lead cross-functional technical coordination with manufacturing, flight crew operations, safety, supply chain, systems software, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions using structured methodologies.
- Provide factory and flight line support to resolve production issues.
- Develop Interface Control Documents and Specification Control Documents or drawings.
- Perform system safety assessments, fault tree analyses, and reliability evaluations.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
- Support fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle.
- Research emerging technologies for potential application to company programs.
