- Role Summary
- Provides engineering leadership to a multi-disciplinary team supporting research and development, ongoing programs, and new business initiatives. Develops and manages statements of work, leads project execution, coordinates resources, manages risks and performance metrics, and provides technical, business, and integration leadership to ensure successful project delivery under minimal direction.
- Education & Job Requirements:
- You must have:
- A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
- Typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD + 4 years of related work experience, Master's + 7 years of related work experience).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering project teams.
- Must be a U.S. Person for purposes of export compliance.
- Ability to successfully complete required training (OJT or formal classroom training) as a contingency of assignment.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in St. Charles, MO.
- Preferred Skills:
- You will have:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience with proposal development and contract negotiations.
- Experience with export compliance or international programs.
- Experience developing and tracking program plans, schedules, and budgets for technical projects.
- Project management experience in an engineering environment.
- Experience in engineering project planning or project management.
- Experience supporting weapons systems.
- Experience working directly with government customers.
- Experience collaborating across functions and organizations.
- Job Duties & Functions:
- You will be able to:
- Provide engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers.
- Develop statements of work (SOW) to support research and development, ongoing programs, and new business requirements.
- Work with customers and management to obtain approval of SOWs.
- Respond to changes in SOW, assess impacts, and negotiate modifications to deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules.
- Lead project execution to complete the work statement.
- Identify and track performance metrics.
- Plan, identify, and coordinate resources required throughout the life cycle of the project or program.
- Define and implement plans for risk mitigation and opportunity management.
- Compare actual results to baseline plans to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.
- Provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
- Work under minimal direction while ensuring alignment with program objectives.
