Job Description
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all maintenance personnel and repair station operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant performance. This role maintains the integrity of the Part 145 Repair Station certification and serves as the primary liaison with the FAA regarding maintenance matters. The Maintenance Director manages personnel, scheduling, facilities, budgeting, and production while ensuring all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, Operations Specifications, and the Inspection Procedures Manual. The Director may approve aircraft for return to service, delegate authority as necessary, and initiate revisions to operations and maintenance manuals, while retaining overall responsibility for repair station techniques, processes, and regulatory compliance.

- Education & Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required; IA preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a certificated mechanic on aircraft
- Minimum of 1 year of experience approving aircraft for return to service
- Meets recent experience requirements of FAR 65.83 in the same category and class of aircraft serviced, or at least 3 years of experience with a certified airframe repair station
- Sufficient training in the concepts and programs specified in company manuals to ensure compliance and supervisory capability
- Willingness to attend aircraft, powerplant, and equipment manufacturer training courses as required
- Authorized to work in the United States

- Comprehensive knowledge of the Inspection Procedures Manual and Operations Specifications
- Thorough understanding of FAR Part 145 and other applicable regulations; Part 135 experience preferred
- Strong customer service and business development skills
- Financial and operational systems knowledge related to the full business cycle
- Ability to maintain regulatory integrity while driving operational efficiency
- Job Duties & Functions
- Operate the repair station in an efficient and cost-effective manner to ensure maximum profitability
- Manage maintenance department activities, including personnel, scheduling, facilities, and production planning
- Review and approve anticipated work schedules and align scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
- Anticipate manpower needs and plan long-range work requirements
- Maintain general knowledge of all work being performed
- Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with the Inspection Procedures Manual, Operations Specifications, and applicable FARs
- Provide adequate equipment, materials, and qualified personnel for repair station operations
- Oversee qualification and training of full-time and contract maintenance personnel
- Coordinate with other departments and advise Finance on budget preparation and forecasting
- Oversee procurement, inventory control, and approval of purchase requisitions
- Prepare and revise maintenance manuals and coordinate FAA review and approval
- Ensure only authorized parts, materials, and lubricants are used and properly handled during the repair process
- Maintain current manufacturer service manuals, bulletins, airworthiness directives, and technical data
- Ensure proper preservation of parts and units during and after maintenance
- Promote safety standards and maintain a clean and orderly facility
- Delegate duties as necessary while retaining overall accountability

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Frequent walking throughout the facility and standing during customer interactions
- Exposure to hangar environments, including weather conditions, aircraft operations, noise, chemicals, fumes, and machinery
