Job Description

The Avionics Technician will perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications of avionics and electrical systems on business jets and turboprop aircraft. You will troubleshoot and install systems, including VHF Comm, GPS, VOR, ILS, DME, transponders, autopilot, Pitot-Static, aircraft batteries, and cabin entertainment, while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, quality standards, and company procedures. You will maintain accurate records, complete inspection forms, advise on unairworthy conditions, and support the Chief Inspector and other maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft return to service safely and efficiently.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • A minimum of 5 years of recent work-related experience in avionics or electrical systems on business jets or turboprops.
    • Experience with installation or troubleshooting of VHF Comm systems, GPS, VOR, ILS, DME, transponder systems, autopilot systems, Pitot-Static systems (including RVSM re-certifications), aircraft batteries, and cabin entertainment systems.
    • Working knowledge of aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
    • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
    • Possesses quality focus and documentation skills.
    • Must have own tools.
    • Preferred Skills
    • Experience with avionics system development.
    • Prior issuance of an FAA Repairman Certificate with an avionics repair station.
    • FCC license.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Complete all inspection forms and FAA Form 337.
    • Check conformance with approved drawings or approved data.
    • Maintain current knowledge of regulations and technical data for assigned work.
    • Assist the Chief Inspector and advise on unairworthy conditions or procedures contrary to the Repair Station Manual or Quality Control System.
    • Ensure all parts received from stock have proper maintenance release tags and shelf-life items are current.
    • Confirm calibration of inspection aids and test equipment is up to date.
    • Follow all safety procedures around the aircraft and work areas.
    • Notify Shop Manager of unsafe conditions or safety hazards.
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands/arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • Lift and/or move 50 pounds or more as required.
