Job Description

The Aircraft Mechanic II performs electrical modifications, installs and repairs wire bundles, troubleshoots aircraft electrical and environmental systems, fabricates and routes wire harnesses, reads and interprets engineering drawings and technical orders, documents work to ensure compliance, trains and assists less senior employees, leads teams when needed, prioritizes workload to maintain project schedules, and collaborates with other team members to support program objectives. The role requires adherence to safety and procedural guidelines and may include variable shifts and occasional travel.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience performing electrical/electronic maintenance and installation on aircraft.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical/electronic theories and systems sufficient to perform assigned duties.
    • Experience in fabricating new hire bundles.
    • Experience in routing and installing wire bundles on the aircraft without existing wiring.
    • Ability to work rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
    • Ability to obtain customer approval for PL1 access; dual citizenship acceptable if US citizenship can be proved.
    • Preferred Skills
    • Depot-level or modification maintenance experience.
    • Experience operating forklifts, mobile cranes, or riding-type electric elevating equipment.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications to wiring and system components.
    • Terminate connectors, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring.
    • Route, seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses per standard processes.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements.
    • Perform assembly, installation, inspection, operational testing, and quality checks.
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and environmental systems.
    • Document modifications, repairs, inspections, and operational testing results.
    • Train and assist less senior employees and lead teams on complex tasks when required.
    • Prioritize workload and maintain schedules on assigned projects.
    • Interpret work instructions, charts, blueprints, diagrams, and job layouts.
    • Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to safety procedures.
    • Assist other team members in order to meet cost and schedule targets.
    • Follow procedural, safety, and tool control requirements.
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Ascend and descend ladders and work in confined spaces.
    • Lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
    • Exposure to elevated platforms and noise.
    • Use personal protective equipment for the face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms.
    • Perform finger manipulation, overhead reaching, standing, walking, crouching, and occasional 2-person lifts.
    • Follow NASA/Boeing safety standards and maintain required training certifications.
