    • Role Summary
    • In this role, you will monitor every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality and ensure that aircraft-delivered software adheres to development company standards and satisfies regulatory requirements.
    • Education & Job Requirements
    • You must have
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience with DO-178 or DO-254, with Software Quality
    • Assurance experience visible on a resume.
    • A minimum of 11 years of experience with aerospace or defense industry software processes, including RTCA DO-178c, RTCA DO-278a, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, or MIL-STD-498.
    • A basic understanding of audit techniques.
    • A basic understanding of software development methods and software testing methods.
    • The ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts to enable the development and review of systems and software processes.
    • Experience in software requirements development.
    • Experience in software design and coding using C, C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages.
    • An embedded software or hardware verification background or knowledge.
    • Effective communication skills, including written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Preferred Skills
    • You will have
    • Experience with government customer projects.
    • Experience with Federal Aviation Administration projects.
    • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • You will be able
    • Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
    • Work well in a team environment with effective interpersonal and customer interface skills.
    • Come up to speed quickly with the software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedules.
    • Review and approve systems, software, and test equipment requirements, design documentation, and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards.
    • Participate with engineering counterparts on program activities to ensure processes and products comply with contractual and company process requirements and standards.
    • Participate in the software change control process boards.
    • Support program activities and audit software suppliers with moderate travel as required.
    • Mentor and train junior employees as required.
