Job Description

The Structures Mechanic performs troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance on customer aircraft, including fabrication and modification of structural components and composite repairs. This role supports structural inspections, hidden damage assessments, component removals and installations, and complex structural repairs on and off aircraft. The technician ensures all work is completed in accordance with approved manuals, regulations, and company standards while maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety policies and supporting overall maintenance operations.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Formal training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or equivalent schooling.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft structural sheet metal repair and modification.
    • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
    • Basic PC skills.
    • Ability to obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment qualifications as required.
    • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable.

    • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form regarding individual and aircraft status.
    • Ability to work unscheduled overtime, including non-scheduled work days and holidays.
    • Ability to work in seasonal or inclement weather conditions.
    • Ability to perform work in a safe and timely manner.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance on customer aircraft.
    • Fabricate and modify structural components and perform minor structural repairs on composite components, attached or detached.
    • Assist with hidden damage inspections and complex structural repairs on or off aircraft.
    • Assist with aircraft component repair and remove and install aircraft components as required.
    • Perform and document work in accordance with approved manuals, regulations, and company requirements.
    • Operate ground support equipment as required.
    • Assist with mechanical and electrical removals and installations as needed.
    • Assist with maintenance at off-site locations and support aircraft towing as required.
    • Participate in 5-S activities and adhere to general work requirements for factory, shop, and hangar environments.
    • Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.

    • Ability to work evening shift.
    • Ability to work overtime, holidays, and non-scheduled work days as required.
    • Ability to work outdoors in seasonal and inclement weather conditions.
