- Role Summary
- This position is responsible for leading the technical development, integration, qualification, and sustainment of Thrust Vector Control systems supporting a space launch program. The role provides technical ownership of TVC hardware and system-level performance while managing suppliers to meet schedule, cost, quality, and risk objectives. This position requires advanced analytical capability, strong technical leadership, and effective cross-disciplinary communication.
- Education & Job Requirements
- You must have
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with a focus in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, or chemical engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Thrust Vector Control engineering.
- Experience serving as a technical lead, responsible engineer, chief engineer, or lead engineer.
- Hands-on experience with actuators, pivots, nozzles, control electronics, and sensors.
- Propulsion engineering experience supporting space exploration programs, launch systems, or spaceflight organizations.
- U.S. Person status to meet export compliance requirements.

- You will have
- Experience using engineering and data analysis tools such as MATLAB and NASTRAN.
- Previous experience performing root cause corrective action analysis and supporting RCCA processes.
- Job Duties & Functions
- You will be able
- To serve as the lead engineer for assigned TVC hardware and system elements, owning technical requirements, baselines, change management, and certification artifacts.
- To lead technical planning, execution, and trade studies related to TVC architecture, actuator sizing, control laws, thermal and mechanical loads, lubrication, materials, and redundancy considerations.
- To develop and approve technical requirements, drawing packages, interface control documents, and test plans while ensuring compliance with system requirements.
- To provide technical oversight of supplier programs, including source selection support, contract technical direction, performance monitoring, design reviews, supplier risk assessments, corrective action oversight, and configuration control.
- To coordinate and execute subsystem and system-level test campaigns, including component testing, qualification testing, hot-fire testing, and functional and acceptance testing.
- To analyze test data and lead anomaly investigations through resolution.
- To perform and guide structural, thermal, fluid, and control systems analyses, including finite element analysis, dynamic modeling, control simulation, margin assessment, and life-cycle predictions.
- To verify analytical models against test data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- To conduct failure modes and effects analyses, fault tree analyses, reliability and maintainability assessments, and life-limited parts tracking.
- To lead multidisciplinary engineering reviews and represent the TVC discipline in system-level design reviews and integration meetings.
- To mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and specialists.
- To communicate program technical status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership, suppliers, and stakeholders through verbal briefings and written technical reports.
