Job Description

The Material Coordinator supports F/A-18 MMO operations by managing materials, ensuring proper routing, storage, inventory accuracy, and timely availability of parts and hardware. This role maintains smooth production flow by analyzing material needs, resolving shortages, and supporting compliance with safety, quality, and inventory standards across multiple shifts.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse inventory, including parts accuracy and accountability.
    • Computer experience and competency.
    • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
    • Ability to perform assigned duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or physical location and conditions.
    • Ability to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
    • Responsible for complying with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD, contracts, facilities, housekeeping, and inventory control.

    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Route materials to prescribed storage locations according to procedures.
    • Conduct an inventory of stored materials and report deterioration or damage.
    • Remove and issue materials from storage and prepare them for shipment.
    • Perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
    • Perform assigned duties on all shifts regardless of weather or physical conditions.
    • Order parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required to perform assigned duties.
    • Comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD, contracts, facilities, housekeeping, and inventory control.
    • Review and analyze production scheduling requirements to determine materials and actions necessary to ensure schedule compliance.
    • Identify, investigate, analyze, and coordinate solutions to material discrepancies to ensure quality standards, schedules, and budgets are met.
    • Perform in-depth analysis of complex problems related to material requirements, inventories, schedules, and configuration control as needed.
    • Perform other duties as directed by supervision and management for the benefit of the company, program, and employees.
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces.
    • Ability to lift loads of approximately 35 pounds and perform 2-person lifts for weights greater than 50 pounds as needed.
    • Exposure to noise and elevated platforms.
    • Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms as required.
    • Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
    • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
    • Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material.
    • Obtain and maintain required training certifications.
    • Occasionally manipulate objects with fingers for 1 to 3 hours.
    • Frequently reach overhead for 3 to 6 hours.
    • Frequently walk and stand on flat or uneven surfaces.
    • Frequently balance on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces.
    • Occasionally climb 3–12 ft ladders or stands.
    • Perform rotations of head and neck, sit, crawl, squat, bend/stoop, lie down, and operate foot controls for extended periods.
    • Occasionally come into contact with metals.
