    • Role Summary
    • This role supports aircraft structural maintenance and repair for the F/A-18 program. The position performs structural work, close-tolerance drilling, reaming, installation, and component troubleshooting while interpreting technical documentation and ensuring compliance with established repair processes. The role contributes to maintaining aircraft readiness by supporting modification, restoration, and overhaul activities in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
    • Education & Job Requirements
    • You must have:
    • A high school diploma or GED.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience using structural hand tools such as drills, pancake adapters, countersink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience performing heavy structure work, including locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures such as doublers, stringers, webs, and seat tracks.
    • The ability to work variable shifts to support workload requirements.
    • Experience performing heavy aircraft maintenance on F/A-18 platforms. (Required)

    • You will have:
    • Experience working with titanium aircraft structures.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • You will be able:
    • Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation activities to support critical aircraft structures.
    • Locate blind holes to support the installation of structural components to the existing aircraft structure.
    • Complete sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation work in accordance with standard repair processes.
    • Interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs.
    • Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level structural modifications and repairs.
    • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and replace components as required.
    • Perform aircraft sheet metal and structural modification work and determine the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
    • Use aircraft-specific tooling, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and sheet metal equipment.
    • Access and update aircraft data using computerized systems and initiate parts and discrepancy requests.
    • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits for assigned work.
    • Ascend and descend ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds while maintaining safety compliance.
    • Assist other maintenance teams to support cost and schedule requirements.
    • Maintain compliance with site tool and FOD procedures.
    • Meet training, testing, and assessment requirements associated with initial and ongoing qualification.
    • Physical Requirements
    • Able to:
    • Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
    • Work in environments with noise exposure and elevated platforms.
    • Use personal protective equipment for the face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms.
    • Pass visual acuity and color perception testing.
    • Interpret detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes.
    • Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
    • Maintain required training certifications to support assigned responsibilities.
    • Perform occasional finger manipulation for 1 to 3 hours.
    • Participate in 2-person lifts for items weighing more than 50 pounds when required.
    • Reach overhead frequently for 3 to 6 hours.
    • Walk frequently on flat surfaces.
    • Stand frequently on flat or uneven surfaces.
    • Balance on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces.
    • Climb occasionally on ladders or stands from 3 to 12 feet in height.
    • Rotate the head and neck, sit, crawl, squat, bend, stoop, lie down, and operate foot controls for extended periods.
    • Work with occasional contact with metals.
    • Work in environments with frequent noise exposure.
