- Role Summary
- In this role, you will apply your sheet metal expertise to inspect, repair, fabricate, and modify aircraft structures for the organization. You will work hands-on with airframe and composite components, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will support daily operations both on and off the aircraft while contributing to a high-performing, safety-driven maintenance team.
- Education & Job Requirements
- You must have
- A minimum of 3 years of structural sheet metal repair or modification experience or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of corporate or commercial jet experience.
- An A Certification, A&P Certificate, or Repairman Certificate.
- Completion of Sheet Metal A/C Tech School or equivalent.
- The ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills regarding individual and/or aircraft status.
- A basic set of hand tools and the ability to demonstrate proper inventory and control.
- The ability to obtain Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required.
- The ability to work unscheduled overtime, including non-scheduled days and holidays.
- The ability to work in seasonal or inclement weather conditions.
- The ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, if applicable.
- Basic PC skills.
- The demonstrated ability to train other employees.
- Preferred Skills
- You will have
- Our client’s aircraft model experience – CRJs
- Delegated Inspector Qualification
- Certified welder credentials
- Job Duties / Functions
- You will
- Adhere to the employer’s General Work Requirements
- Comply with environmental health and safety policies, participate in 5-S activities, and perform work safely and efficiently
- Remove, install, fabricate, or modify aircraft components and structural parts
- Perform minor structural repairs on composite components, whether attached or detached
- Assist in conducting hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures
- Assist with complex structural repairs on or off the aircraft
- Operate ground support equipment as required
- Assist with aircraft component repair
- Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations
- Support maintenance at off-site locations as needed
- Assist in wing removal and other maintenance tasks
- Inspect confined areas of the airframe
- Assist in designing, modifying, and welding metal fixtures
- Provide time estimates as required
- Fabricate sheet and composite components
