- Role Summary
- In this role, you will perform advanced aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on complex airframe, powerplant, and system components while supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations for the organization. In this role, you will interpret technical data, mentor junior mechanics, and assist leadership by contributing to daily workflow, quality standards, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will apply your broad technical knowledge to ensure airworthiness, maintain documentation accuracy, and uphold a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Education & Job Requirements
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of recent commercial, military, or MRO aircraft maintenance experience.
- Must hold a valid Airframe, Repairman, or Airframe & Powerplant certification.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, service bulletins, and engineering documentation.
- Must be able to operate ground support equipment such as power carts, lifts, and related tools.
- Must be able to comply with all DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
- Must have the ability to climb ladders, work overhead, and maneuver in confined areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work outside core business hours as required.
- Must be able to travel if needed.
- Must meet requirements for facility access, including U.S. Citizenship.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Preferred Skills
- You should have strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including engines, hydraulics, landing gear, air-conditioning, and flight controls.
- You should have experience performing rigging and operational testing on major systems.
- You should have the ability to mentor, guide, and support OJT (On-the-Job Training) for other technicians.
- You should have demonstrated the ability to identify unsafe conditions and act immediately to correct them.
- You should have the ability to gather technical data for engineering review and support documentation processes.
- You should have experience working in high-accountability, quality-driven environments.
- Job Duties / Functions
- You will be overseeing and co-signing work completed by uncertified mechanics in accordance with regulatory procedures.
- You will be performing routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting.
- You will be interpreting engineering data, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and related documentation.
- You will be rigging and operationally testing flight control systems, landing gear, engine systems, and related components.
- You will be troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems to support aircraft return-to-service.
- You will be ordering parts using the correct technical data and verifying material compliance prior to installation.
- You will be gathering information for engineering when discrepancies or complex technical issues arise.
- You will be providing mentorship, assistance, and training through hands-on instruction and OJT.
- You will be communicating progress, challenges, and status updates with peers, leads, and supervisors.
- You will be ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- You will be performing accurate timekeeping, documentation, and work order entries in compliance with policy.
- You will be supporting planning, production, and quality initiatives as required.
- You will be performing other related duties as assigned.
