- Role Summary
- In this role, you will maintain and ensure the airworthiness of historic rotary-wing aircraft, including UH-1 Huey and AH-1 Cobra helicopters. You will perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs to support flight experiences, events, and the organization’s mission of honoring veterans, preserving Army aviation history, and inspiring future generations.
- Education & Job Requirements
- Must have a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic license.
- Must have rotary-wing maintenance experience; UH-1/AH-1 or Army maintenance background is highly desirable.
- Must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and maintain legacy/vintage aircraft systems.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must have the ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
- Must have excellent communication skills, professional work habits, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must have the ability to travel as needed to support events.
- Must pass background and drug screenings.
- Preferred Skills
- You will have an Inspection Authorization.
- You will have experience mentoring or collaborating with volunteers or peers.
- You will have strong knowledge of FAA regulations.
- You will have the ability to maintain accurate records and logbooks.
- Job Duties / Functions
- You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on UH-1, AH-1, and other aircraft in the fleet.
- You will troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, and rotor systems.
- You will maintain accurate and compliant documentation.
- You will ensure readiness for Living History Flight Experiences and special events.
- You will work collaboratively with staff and volunteer maintainers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of safety, respect, and accountability.
