- Role Summary
- In this role, you will support software integration and testing within the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) by executing complex builds, environment setups, and test procedures to ensure system stability and functionality. You will collaborate with systems engineers, customers, and industry partners to support large-scale simulation and experimentation efforts, focusing on real-time virtual simulation environments. This role requires a hands-on, technical professional who can work independently with minimal supervision in secure, fast-paced environments.
- Education & Job Requirements
- Must have education and experience typically acquired through an Associate degree.
- Must have a minimum of 6 or more years of related work experience, OR an equivalent combination (for example, a Bachelor’s degree + a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or a minimum of 8 years of related work experience).
- Must have the ability to obtain SAP clearances.
- Must have 3–5 years of experience with C++ programming.
- Must have 3–5 years of experience using version control systems such as Git or Subversion.
- Must have experience working in a customer-facing role supporting technical or software-driven projects.
- Preferred Skills
- You will have experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) standards.
- You will have experience with operator-in-the-loop real-time simulation systems.
- You will have experience working within Agile software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- You will have experience working autonomously in secure, closed environments with minimal supervision.
- You will have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- You will have a strong collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team success.
- Job Duties/Functions
- You will be supporting software integration by executing complex build and test procedures to ensure system stability and performance.
- You will be customizing software tools to generate advanced software products such as builds, design documents, and specifications.
- You will be designing, coding, documenting, and testing software solutions to address complex technical challenges.
- You will be executing and documenting software test results, maintaining accurate test logs and analysis reports.
- You will be collecting and analyzing software metrics to assess and improve system performance.
- You will be configuring and operating simulation toolsets—primarily the Virtual Interactive Simulation Environment (VISE)—for real-time Operator-in-the-Loop (OITL) experiments.
- You will be collaborating closely with customers, systems engineers, and industry partners to support virtual simulation experiments and integration testing.
- You will be working under minimal supervision while ensuring adherence to quality, security, and operational standards.
