- Role Summary
- In this role, you will design, integrate, and support complex electronic and electrical systems across the full product lifecycle. You’ll define requirements with customers, translate them into hardware and software designs, and validate system performance. You’ll also monitor supplier performance, resolve technical issues, and explore new technologies to enhance system capabilities.
- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years of experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years of' experience in an engineering classification OR a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
- Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Bachelor of Science with 3 years of experience in relevant field of study or Master of Science with 1 year of experience in relevant field of study.
- Experience with system requirements analysis, schematic design, and hardware/software integration.
- Experience or knowledge of RS422/RS232, PC104, TCP/IP & Ethernet, IEEE-488, MMSI, and MIL-STD-1553 communication standards, protocols and/or interfaces.
- Experience or knowledge of common military standards used in hardware design and testing (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472, etc.).
- Experience with CAD and creating Electrical Schematics.
- Experience utilizing JIRA for project management activities like cost and schedule management, milestone, planning and execution of SOW.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience or knowledge of cyber security principals or cyber certifications.
- Experience or knowledge of network design.
- Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. DOORs, CAMEO, earned value management).
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with product/systems development and integration.
- Technical system domain knowledge (e.g. air vehicle and/or weapons).
- CompTia Security + Certification.
- Job Duties/Functions
- Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
- Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
- Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
- Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
