Job Description

The primary function of the Quality Manager is to perform inspections of products, record quality results, and, when applicable, oversee Inspectors performing the same. This role ensures that all maintenance, alteration, and inspection activities comply with FAA, NAVAIR, company, and applicable regulatory standards.

    • Pay Rate: $95k-$105k, w/IA $115/Annual
    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the aviation industry.
    • 5–10 years of experience in corporate aviation as an A&P Mechanic.
    • Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
    • Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate.
    • Working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9110 Quality Management System standards.
    • Working knowledge of FOD and Tool Control, Technical Orders (T.O.), TCTOs, FAA FARs, and Aircraft Maintenance Information Systems.
    • Proficient in blueprint reading and shop mathematics.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability to use inspection measuring devices, mirrors, and flashlights to accomplish inspections.
    • Ability to work flexible and extended hours.
    • Ability to pass a background check.
    • Participation in the DOT drug and alcohol screening program is required.

    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Ensure all technical data on articles maintained or altered by the Repair Station are secured and kept current with the latest revisions, including process specifications, manufacturer manuals, service bulletins, FAA airworthiness directives, related FAA data, and other technical documentation.
    • Perform inspections of aircraft systems, equipment, and parts for operation and conformance to FAA, NAVAIR, and company standards and specifications.
    • Inspect installation, repair, and operation of electrical wiring, electronic systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, emergency systems, and other aircraft components.
    • Inspect adjustments, structural and electrical repairs, or modifications made in accordance with applicable Technical Orders (T.O.), TCTOs, work orders, work cards, structural repair manuals, and modification data.
    • Maintain the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, and Training Manual.
    • Perform receiving inspections on incoming raw materials and purchased parts.
    • Perform machined parts inspections, weld inspections, and electrical inspections.
    • Oversee Inspectors as applicable.

    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Work performed inside a hangar and outside in all types of weather conditions with direct contact around moving and non-moving aircraft.
    • Exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery possible.
    • Ability to communicate with customers and employees in person, by phone, and via radio communications.
    • Position requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
    • Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, and stand to accomplish inspections.
    • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds and occasional pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds.
    • Ability to work in and around confined spaces such as fuel tanks.
    • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a clean driving record to remain insurable.
