- Position Responsibilities
- Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
- Basic Qualifications(Required Skills/Experience)
- High School Diploma or GED andtypically 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
- Minimum of 10 years of on-aircraft heavy structural experience
- Minimum of 5 years in an MRO/Repair Station/AOG//Travel MODS environment
- Minimum of 5 years of experience removing and restoring aircraft assemblies
- Minimum of 10 years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of composites experience (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of Velocity and Radars experience (preferred)
- Ability to identify common tools
- Minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
- Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes.
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook, etc.
- Must have demonstrated strong effective communication, work ethic, and sense of urgency for completing assigned task/work.
- Job Duties
- Complex production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations.
- Utilization of comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft structural modification and repair and the ability to determine the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
- Operation of unique aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, sheers, etc.
- Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to execute complex structures work, including but not limited to pull holes, match & back drilling, fastener removals, riveting, sleeve bolt drilling, and system, wire, and tube installations.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair.
- Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
- Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance with regulation
- Physical Requirements
- Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds
- Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals
- Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist, and walking.
- Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting),
- Capable of drilling, reaming, filling, removing, and installing fasteners, Shimming, accurately measuring, and documenting data.
- Use of high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting)
