- Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble composite parts in accordance with current technical data and procedures.
- Perform tool preparation, lamination, vacuum bagging, oven operation and finishing
- Rout, drill, trim and sand composite parts according to drawing dimensions and tolerances
- Handle and store all materials appropriately per product specifications.
- Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
- Maintain a clean job site
- Required Skills
- Must be able to read basic blueprints
- Must be able to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
- Must be able to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
- Must have ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
- PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
- Extensive use of bagging materials
- Must be able to properly bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
- Capable of using a “Hot-Bonder” type machine cure procedure.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb all day
- Ability to frequently lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
- Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Minimum 2 years of composite experience in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment is preferred.
- Must have no known allergy to epoxy agents and have the ability to become certified to wear a respirator
